Hello
Greetings from olde England. I'm new here but I've been reading the forums all summer and gleaned lots of interesting tips and tricks. I've been a D&D player for around 35 years and two years ago set up the Wadhurst Wargamers & Roleplayers in deepest darkes Sussex ( we're now around 12 strong and playing lots of different games as well as D&D).
I have been inspired to make some underdark mushrooms out of corks (wine bottle type!) and when I have some time I will post the pictures. I have also bought me a glue gun as all crafters seem to have one. And yes I've been collecting all sorts of wierd and wonderful bits and bobs - recycle is so exciting, especially as I spent two weeks beachcombing on the shores of Cumbria.
I've even bought those crystal things from the guy in Germany (we had a lot of problems communicating and we couldn't get paypal to work via ebay - I don't speak German and he didn't seem to speak English but we got there). There is a new age health shop based in the UK on ebay that also sells white crystal things that aren't crystal and are actually make of crystal! More on that later.
Many thanks to lots of you crafters who post such brilliant tutorials and posts, it takes a lot of effort and skills and time you spend is much appreciated indeed. I hope to be able to return some positive useful tips shortly.
All the best Andy
ps much interested in gelatinous cubes too (my official D&D one cost around £25!!!!), will have to try the resin route toooooooooo

"Honey, why are there four crates of wine in the garage?" "Craftin'. Large Underdark build imminent. Require svirfneblin psilocybin farm-intensive overlays. Myconid thralls in rebellion. It's technical. [ hic]" Kia ora! I haere koe ki te hui kaihanga toi. Roughly means "Hi! You have come to the assembly of the creators of art." in Te Reo Maori.

<==== [avatar] Thats better! I've found me hat!!! Now where's me axe and shield?
I shall post pictures of my mushrooms tomorrow. Have to find some decent cavernous background for the photoshoot! My glue gun also arrived today along with 50 glue sticks - now I can stick everything together!

I've added my photos as promised, but before you go to look for them just be warned the quality is atrocious. My camera hates low light levels ( its so old!!!) as I left photogrpahing them until fairly late. But its better than a poke in the eye with an orc's spear tip - I will take some better piccies over the weekend. If people want a tutorial I will of course obliege! They are posted in the general crafters section: dmscraft.proboards.com/thread/1954/mushrooms-underdark-fungi-titanic-toadstools
