Here is my new alternate 2.5D System.
I just want to state that there is nothing wrong with the original 2.5D method . The new system just has some advantages that I prefer such as modularity, portability, no warping problems and less work than building a modular set of tiles. New vids to follow soon.

This is amazing! I've been wondering what you've been up to, lol. So many questions, but I know, I know... there's more videos coming I think the board's mold makers will have a field day with these.

its kinda like what i already do with my wall sections for the ruined building corners for bombed out cityscapes . i see benifits to both 2.5D and NEXT , depending on the project .

Planed to get the next 2.5D Next vid out today but sore throat and sinus congestion kept me out of the editing chair.

I'm normally no friend of edition changes, but this time it's different. Your modular dungeon and cavern walls are a great idea, not only in terms of reusability but also for storage, transportation and handling in the game. I already have a box full of cavern walls and some modular ice walls; can't wait to see how you do the brick walls! *rubs hands*

I plan to follow the vids closely since I have to bring my stuff to play D&D with my mom and our group. They like the standard dungeon crawl, so this will fit in very nicely and solve the problem of how to bring my stuff. I still intend to use the original 2.5 system for special stuff, like my Glassworks and my eventual Emerald Spire Dungeon.
I can't wait to see what was used for the mats. I suspect cheap dining table placemats but I might be wrong.

Good system, DM Scotty, highly portable and compatible with other tiles, too! Makes a lot of sense.
I'm still too enamored with lovingly creating box loads of 1st edition 2.5d tiles at the moment, but I can see your new method being another excellent addition to the collection.

Can't remember seeing any vids about crafting the columns behind Rodrick at the end. Have I missed a video?
They sure look nice.

This is great. I have a box of converted Genja pieces that I may use in my next game. But I want to see how you did yours too! And what are the floors? Is that those foamy pieces you can get at craft stores.
Joann Fabrics and Michaels are gonna love me soon.

Looks a lot like a thicker variation of the modular walls, doors, and things from the Star Wars (D20): Adventure Game...

This is similar to how we did things before. We didn't use painted mats as we were still using grids so we used battle mats and other gridded surfaces. I appreciate the versatility, but the created tiles are much cooler IMO. Plus I love making them.

This is similar to how we did things before. We didn't use painted mats as we were still using grids so we used battle mats and other gridded surfaces. I appreciate the versatility, but the created tiles are much cooler IMO. Plus I love making them. One things that I've done with several of the walls, doors, and everything else I have or duplicated from elsewhere is that they work well WITH tiles as well. It lets the tiles that you do make be something more special and focused on, and it reduces the needed storage space overall as a lot of the flourishes are things that will be available for multiple uses rather than largely be stuck in one place. Meaning that the focus events in an adventure are the ones that draw the most attention. Hell, if you aren't using a grid, you can even further reduce what needs to be used and just put the walls straight on the table...
