So I printed out some paper pawns, glued them to some foam board, but needed a way to help them stand up. So I wanted to create some simple bases for Pawns. Also didn't want to spend any money on this. Here is the method using those tops from an aluminum can and some cardboard..... Step 1 - measure your opening on the aluminum can stub. I used 5mm foamboard for mine Step 2 - use pliers to bend the aluminum can stub Step 3 - Bend both sides to form a U shape Step 4 - cut out a piece of cardboard and mark two "slots" Step 5 -cut out slots Step 6 - insert U shaped stub into slots Step 7 - Insert your pawn. you can paint the stands whatever color you want. Feel free to add another piece of cardboard or a washer to add weight/height. Enjoy!

Interesting use of aerospace quality aluminum. It's a cool idea for sure.

Nice paper figure hack, and super cheap.

Good innovation! I see these things lying around on the ground all the time - as litter.
