After watching DMG making chairs, I thought I would give it a go... I used a starbucks stirrer, and match sticks: chair by JJMS313, on Flickr How do you think it compares to a paper chair? Better/Worse ~ or just different? I am slowly starting to work on non-paper crafting.

In my opinion it far out weighs the paper craft chair keep up the good work!

for some things, these paper stuff has nice effects and might be preferred to other crafting methods, but the longer I am here in this community, the less I would use printed paper.
...in other words, your starbucks-chair looks definitively better! It just fits better in a dungeon environment: It is slightly twisted (resulting from a humid dungeon climate), it has real wooden grain - it's perfect.

At first glance the paper craft chair looks more magical, but at second glance the starbucks chair looks more realistic. Good job crafter!

Here are a couple origami chairs I made a long time ago (along with an origami table). I've also made a ton out of craft sticks, and now I use the Tavern accessory mold from Hirst Arts for chairs and some tables. But these worked fine at the time. I actually rarely ever use chairs in my gaming now. I've even considered using flat "chair tokens" since sitting in a chair seems to be beyond the capabilities of most of my game miniatures.

Wood chair is superb, much better than the paper one - the texture of the paper chair is a bit cartoony for my taste. But in general you can get alot out of paper models, if the textures are high-res and fitting. If you were using a photorealistic texture on the paper model, you'd have to look twice to tell them apart, I suppose. For example, the paper mini holds up well in comparison to 3D ones. Paper has its usage und advantage (storage, cost, flexibility of design + art).
