Hey guys,
Just here to introduce myself. Discovered DMG a few weeks aga, and through there arrived at this here treasure throve. Still to read through it all, but needless to say I'm hooked. Started building my own custom dungeon tiles for the Heroquest and Dungeon&dragons boardgame a while ago, and am now working on furniture and detailing. I'll be posting some pictures soon, for now i'm just soaking up all the ideas.
I'm Maus, 36, work in mental healthcare, and have been a dungeon master in various game systems for over 20 years now. Used to play lots of dungeons and dragons, now its mostly Shadowrun. Next to the classic RPGs i play lots of miniature wargames, mostly Necromunda and all things zombie.
To get the wife into the games me and the boys recently picked up Heroquest and D&D boardgame again. Because its a 'boardgame' the wife doesn't think its crazy/mad/freaky/bonkers, and as such actually joins us playing. There's my main reason to build and expand. Its something I can actually play at home without having to constantly explain what the heck i'm doing. Next step will be to get her to craft along with me... but thats for another century i'm afraid.
Anyways, so far thanx for inpiring me, i'll get back to reading all these cool posts. Next on my agenda... Bookcases...
Greetz,

Ah yes an adventure they are indeed... A tedious one. Making all those books one by one is taking its time. Anyone got a decent idea on making rows of books at a time? If so, please let me know how or where. DMG's single book method works like a charm though... it just takes too long for 6 bookcases to fill like that...

Well they onlything i could think of for that was to make one book at a time, glue them together to get a row, then make a mold of the row and cast it! That of course would require you to have casting supplies though! Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

That thought crossed my mind too Darkslayer... and it will probably be the way to go. I just need to get me some new resin.

And when you do do this, you might as well put some extra detail into the books, maybe carve out the shape after you glue some popsicle sticks together. It will be a little time consuming, but ultimately worth it in the end. Thats the way i would go anyway. Goodluck Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Oh BTW welcome to the forum. I thought they did multiple books, but I was wrong, still too good not to pass along.

I'm at the moment sculpting a few rows of books. For this I use greenstuff/brownstuff and Darwi clay. Normally i'd use the balsawood and cardstock method for single books, but if i'm making a mold, it needs to withstand the heat of the mold itself as it sets... I'll look up my camera for some pics as soon as they are done, and before making the molds...
I was also thinking, if i make the molds anyways... i might as well see if i can sell/trade some casts... Would people be interested?
