I'm new to the forum and from what I've seen so far it seems like an awesome place! In the first 15 minutes of looking I've already seen 4 different new ideas for things. I'm pretty new to crafting for D&D, but I am absolutely a veteran crafter. I've been crafting things since before I can remember, and I even have my own craft room in my apartment because of all the different things I do (and sort of for the mess as well). I'm more new to D&D than crafting and I have been wanting to make stuff for my games forevvver and then I came across some crafting videos on Youtube which got me super inspired! So far I have a whole set of basic dungeon tiles and I'm currently working on cave tiles. I DM and I love creating my own campaigns.
I don't claim to be an expert at D&D or crafting dungeons, but crafting in general, I absolutely claim to be an expert. If anybody who is newer to the crafting part has any questions about things like techniques, materials, what works best with what, where to find different materials and where to find things for cheap, please let me know, I would be happy to help! My mother is also a crafter like me and she has taught me all her secrets from 50 years of doing it so I have a bit of a head start that way. And if there is anybody else here who likes to create their own campaigns please pass on some tips! Like I said I'm pretty new to it, I've only done a couple and my groups have never gotten even halfway through them. I'd like some advice on things like, making your own NPC's, or monsters, or some tips on how to create your own items or places in the games while still keeping close to the rules. Right now we are doing a Pathfinder campaign and my current storyline is that my group got transported to our modern world where there is no magic. So they have to figure out where they are then figure out how to get their magic back and how to get back to their own time, and why they were transported there. (The reason I'm doing a campaign like this is because my boyfriend told me that he really enjoys games that are based in the modern world but that it is impossible to do with Pathfinder. I told him I could do it and he doubted me, so I did it!)
Otherwise I'm also here to just make some cool new friends who are into D&D and geeky things in general, since where I live there are not a lot of those kinds of people! Hope everybody has a lot of fun crafting and making new things! I think it's awesome when people are creative and are able to make things for themselves, it makes you feel soooo good about yourself and I like seeing people be happy.
