Great work. I love the painting.
Is that paper towel on the walls?
The furniture is great did you make those yourself?

Great work. I love the painting. Is that paper towel on the walls? The furniture is great did you make those yourself? Thanks! The texture on the wall in the ruins and on the one door is actually toilet paper. The other walls around the door are foam board with the paper stripped off with some carving. Everything in here was crafted from scratch from the furniture to the potion bottles. The only thing that is not crafted was the cage. I found it in the bead section at Michaels on clearance for $1. It came with two. I will probably add a chain to it for fun.

Truly amazing work, Jason. There is so much to love about this project, I don't know where to start... The tree, the doors, the furniture, the books, the scrolls, the bottles, ...
Thanks for taking the time to share it with us!

Isn't it great when your family takes part in your insanity?

Thanks everyone! I think that my favorite part of this dungeon is that everything makes sense. The first area is all that is left of a rather large ruined tower. The area was, obviously the first floor. It was where the wizard received his guests. I wanted to add more debris, but I decided not to for the sake of play. The door leads to the underground area where the wizards lab is located. This is also where his apprentices would act as scribes when not performing other mundane tasks. The wizard locked his lab with a wizard lock that could only be accessed with the proper command word to keep his apprentices from mucking about his things. While this is a published adventure for 1st level characters, I spent a great deal of care giving it character. I also have modified it a bit to add some depth and complexity to the story.
Thanks again for the compliments.

Thanks again for the compliments. Everything making sense is important. That is why I prefer compact dungeon design and filling the dungeon with stuff. I maintain you should always consider the dungeon a character with personality, back story and quirks.

That is cool. Looking at your photos I found myself remembering that adventure. Had it in an old Dragon Magazine. Was always quite fond of that one.
