Its so awesome that you and your friends are trying something new like pathfinder! I was in the same boat as you, I started DMing after only having played one game of D&D before. (And it was a horrible game and pretty much other pwople were playing for me so idk if that counts..) one thing that helped me was the first time we did a pathfinder game we ran through a short module for like level 5 characters. It was nice because it shows you the rythm of the game and your players particularily. For your first session maybe do a short one with premade characyers for everybody just to sort of break the ice. Like I said that was my first one and now I am on to my 4th or 5th campaign I wrote myself and my players love my campaigns. Also reading from a module makes that initial play so much less stressful. Good luck! I really like to add interating elements into my games that arent from any printed books. I make up my own items, rules, locations etc. Makes it more fun. Message me if you need some ideas!

So I had to create a magical item that would give my players power while they are trying to get back to their own time. I'm actually going to be using one of DMScotty's tutorials on a floating monolith for inspiration to make the actual piece for gameplay. But basically they need to get to this magical item and figure out how it works and how they get magic. I've really been wanting to use genies in a campaign so I'm making like a deep cave they will have to go to and get through all the different genies, starting with the lowest CR going up, and gaining experience in between each one. There is an item they will need to receive from each genie to make their magic work again. I haven't thought of what to name the items yet, because I'm terrible at naming things. But I will most likley be switching up the rules for genies granting wishes a bit to work for the campaign better. When the players started the campaign they were in a cage with none of their weapons and they had to break out, and while trying to do so realized that nobody could use magic. Then when they found the place where their weapons were being kept I let 2 people get near the weapons storage and then a secret door popped open to two battle mages firing scorching rays at them. Definately took them by surprise. The battle mages had special amulets that allowed them to use magic, that are powered by the magical item I have not yet named. However, when the PC's killed the battle mages the power disappeared from the amulets. I can't make it too easy.

That is a pretty cool start... What types of things do you make? I have a whole slew of magical items created over all these years from weapons to arcane baubles. I have so many created adventures(Not to knock off modules, but I rather create my own. Seems more personal to me when I run them). Currently making an Adventure of an old dwarven kingdom area long lost to the world and forgotten by everyone(NOT Everyone though muhahaha!!!). Crafting someitems that will fit into the scenerio at the beginning as they trek across the landscape. I have a Race of Dragon-like dwarves who are dragonslayers and wield powerful magics. The party will come across the ashey remains of a preserved/petrified form of one of these people. Something for them to ponder while they travel. Their is an old scroll case of ancient scripture in their version of the Draconic language that will require a special spell or item to decipher the writing. A map of an area is drawn on the pages too....

I know what you mean, creating your own adventures makes the game way more fun, and much more unpredictable for the players too, which hopefully is more fun for them. Draconic dwarves, that is really cool. Ive sort of started and never finished a couple campaigns but this is my first one that ive actually been able to think all the way through, so im really excited about it, im hoping my players like it. Last session one of them realized what I was up to with bringing them into the modern world and I dont think he knew what to do with the information lol
