Because I find myself carrying my DM props all over the place, I've made a set of generic modular terrain tiles, trees and rocks inspired DM Scotty's easy and inexpensive painted carbdoard method. When DMing Savage Worlds games, you never know if you'll end up doing a scifi, fantasy or modern campaign (or any combination thereof), which was another reason to keep the tiles in neutral tones and featureless so they fit in as many different situations as possible. To avoid duplication, the cavern tiles can be flipped and have water on the other side. This helps keep the tile count low and the ziploc bag small. Album: imgur.com/a/SGnCR

Nice idea with the double-sided tiles! I'm liking the paint job on those trees. Double the pleasure....Scotty moans softly Good looking trees! Super cool idea to double-duty the cave/stream tiles. Dude, that is cool. The cool thing about published tiles is that they had two sides. The Great thing about DM Scotty's methods is that you can have tile designes you most likely would not find on published tiles. This post is great because it shows you can have the best of both worlds. Never occurred to me to have double sided crafted tiles. I have a whole bunch of tiles I have yet to paint I just want to go home now and work on a flip side for them lol! Also I love your trees. I made a whole bunch and wish they had come out as nice as yours. ~envy~ hehe. I'll have to try repainting them - just a little. Thanks! The trees are actually a few months older than the rest and were a straight copy of the video tutorial. I made them as well as a boat. I have no idea what to add to the flip-side of the dungeon tiles by the way. They provide enough variety on their own already. Any ideas? These both look great. I really like how the trees came out. THey bring trees to mind and yet are not too tall for storage etc. Well done. Same thing for the mast. The crow's nest and 'top' of the trees have been used a lot ingame thanks to the ease of putting a mini there. Belo trabalho! Muito maneiro. Very Cool. Love the boat. Everything looks great! I'm guessing you didn't put walls on the tiles to keep with the idea of saving space, which I like. Maybe the other sides of the non-cave tiles can be stonework tiles or painted with a staggered brick road design. That could make them versatile for all settings as well.

Nice idea on using both sides of the tiles. I might have to do that with the cavern tiles I am currently working on.

i really need to finish my tiling. though i have barely ever used it for now. i pretty much like the 2.5d next system more. but i do need the bar and i should use my tiles more often once my board game is finished with.
