There's always this idea, if you have a printer handy you could posterise a decent sized high res picture, then paste it down to a board, and viola! a quick and easy sea floor board! Check out this site that allows you to upload any image and turn it into any sized poster to print out in page sized bits (which all you need to do is stick the pieces together in order to reassemble the poster) www.blockposters.com/ Its totally free to use, and I've seen people do all sorts of crazy things with it, so making a board/mat with it would be a doddle. You could make any number of different game boards with this, not just sea floor, just make sure the image is as high res as you can so the detail doesn't pixelate. I've used it for all sorts of wargaming boards and they've turned out fine, maybe if you find a decent image you like, it will for you!
