This Sunday, we're doing a BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) Barbeque. Though they need to beware - the dragon is out of M&M's!

Lol.... youtube llamas with hats (I think #4 & #6).... reference to a meat dragon (yes a dragon made out of meat). Actually watch them in order. NSFW and not something I would play around a 6 year old but pretty funny. Must be charcoal, none of that there gas stuff! blackrosebronwen - keep on forgetting to mention. My daughter, my neice, and two of my cousin's daughter's have Rose as a middle name.

Why thank you. I feel better seeing as how they cheated with foundent to make the shapes. Mine are 100% home made butter cream sculpting. >.> beware, when it comes to decorating confectioneries I can be a little brutal. It's my pride as a cake decorator, even if technically I'm no longer a practicing one since relocating.

Although that was her first name .

Butter cream frosting is the only way to go! I've decorated many a cake in my time, including a 6 layer wedding cake for my sister-in-law. It was white with sky blue swags and flower's and every two layers were separated by wine glasses that had blue carnations in them. It looked really pretty! and NO fondant! I really don't like the taste of that stuff anyway.
No wonder your tiles look so good!

I am only an amateur cake decorator. I have a few under my belt. My favorite one to do was a castle for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Knights and princesses was the theme. Those cupcakes look great, but I don't trust them for some reason, LOL. I keep hearing General Ackbar screaming, "Its a trap!" In my head.

Funny thing is at 14 my daughter likes her middle name more than her first name.

It's my pride as a cake decorator, even if technically I'm no longer a practicing one since relocating. Baking a cake from scratch, no problem..... decorating the cake, problem. I never got the hang of the cake decorating. When it comes to a pastry bag I am all thumbs. Thankfully I did manage to get a hold of the recipe my grandmother used for apple cake (she got it from friends who came over from Germany before WWII). Nice thick batter that will kill a whimpy mixer. I can do a good job getting it close to how she made it.... and after 20 years you'd think I would be able to have one batch of red sauce come out as good as her's?!?!?! Most of the cakes I do either aren't decorated of have a drizzle instead of a frosting. Ooops, and looks like I forgot to make a kitty litter cake for my birthday. (looks like a litter pan with tootsie rolls and mashed up nilla wafers) I like nilla wafers, only reason I wanted to make one Pass on my super double secret tip. Came across it when making oatmeal raisin cookies, but I do it when I make raisin bread now too. Set out a bowl of raisins and scramble one egg in it with the vanilla extract (raisin bread I just use the vanilla). Do that about 1/2 hour before hand (like when you set your eggs & butter out to get to room temp). Does a double whammy of putting some vanilla flavor in the raisin as well as making sure they don't dry out when they are cooked.

Reminds me, I missed last week's game night cause of a stomach bug. First night out I brought some home made raisin bread. I might need to make a faccotio (sp), flat Italian herb bread (bring some olive oil and herbs to heat when you start the bread machine so the flavor leeches into the oil). pour the oil/herbs on the bread before you put it in the oven. Good on it's own or with chili or pasta. One of the guys in the group is vegan. So I have to find some stuff like this that everyone can munch on... on a similar note my father's b-day is coming up. (can I call this lady my step-grandma?) My Step Grandma will be over their place which would mean a good excuse to try making these diabetic brownies . For me cooking and crafting I am in it for the same thing. I like seeing them be enjoyed by other folks.

I know what you mean. There is just something about creating something that can be thoroughly enjoyed by all. I believe that is why I DM as well, i take pleasure in creating fun for others, even if it can be like herding a bunch of tom cats through a waterfall.
