Welcome Bronwen, I'm a newcomer myself and already I've discovered what a wonderfully friendly place this is. I love your Super Sculpty tiles by the way, - I'd be thrilled to bits to get a Christmas present like that Cheers, Wilda G.

@ 1999robur Thank you very much! I'll definitely be taking that advice about pulling up a chair. @ Shinobi Great for the tiles, not so great for time management and other projects and responsibilities. runningwolf Thank you very much. @ grym247 Thank you there seems to be many sights here in Craft-a-lot and I am thrilled to be here. @ wildagreenbough Thank you and welcome to yourself. My brothers were less then thrilled when I kept bothering them to open their present...they apologized for being so grouchy once they finally did.

Double whammy of being shy and being female.... you'd think in this day in age that woman wouldn't be treated as second class gamers (from some of the stories I have heard). good player, good GM, bad player, bad GM has nothing to go with if you stand up or sit down when you take a pee Maybe I am just old and have a few more points of wisdom now? I sort of lucked out. I'm about 35 mins away from my closest game store, and could not find anyone near me on any of the "game finder" web sites. I was on craigslist looking for garage sales and something told me to search on there (went through a few sub categories like community and events and such) and found a group about 20 minutes away. Two weeks ago we met up for the first time and hung out and played other games (cards and dice games) to get to know each other and see if we're all be a good fit for RPGing. Last night I was first time in their continuing Savage World Space Fantasy Campaign. A Gnome Medic who packs a laser SMG, I cut a few zombies and skeletons in half

Last night I was first time in their continuing Savage World Space Fantasy Campaign. A Gnome Medic who packs a laser SMG, I cut a few zombies and skeletons in half I dunno, strangely enough its been in the past couple of years that I learned the lesson that some people do treat female games differently. In the area I grew up around I never had a problem, never felt like I was treated different or lesser in any way. Then I started broadening my horizons and started coming across it. So I think its less to do with age, and more to do with locations. Areas with larger populations of gamers are usually more likely to include females on a regular basis, so people are used to it. ON the other hand, smaller communities do not, and that is where I've run into problems. Honestly I may be part of the problem. I'm usually shy in my approach to groups and other people, but when I finally do I don't tend to hold back my supposedly strong personality which usually ends up with people liking me a lot, or finding me to be less then nice names. Sounds like that game was a blast! Kinda makes me want to check out Savage World since I never have. Hopefully there are many nights of Fantastical Adventures in your future.

u would be welcome in any of the groups that i had played in or ran. I have only played in one group that was "Lady Banned" not known to me at first when i started and when two of the members said they could not play I made a few comments and picked up all my stuff which was half of what was on the table and walked out. Out of a group of 8 the two of them were on their own within two weeks and those players started playing in my campaign along with the three ladies who wished to join. I do not remember every not having at least one lady playing in any group I have ever played in come to think of it. Honestly u ladies who play r awesome in my book and any of u would be welcome at my table (especially u crafters who make stuff I have seen so I can have u make awesome stuff for the game terrain We would have the worlds biggest terrain set for sure lol)

Savage Worlds took me a bit to get used to, but it lives up to it's name about being fast & fun. Had to have the GM look up the ROF (rate of fire) rules, as I was the first player he had that took an automatic weapon..... Used the Jayne line a few times about forgetting to get some grenades Anyone is welcome at my table to play. Well that being said it's actually a matter of how well they fit in with the group. If someone earns the nick name Comet (abrasive like the cleanser) that's a different story. We all have to deal with those people at work/school and the last thing we want to do is deal with them when we are trying to relax and have fun. Women and men do tend to think differently and approach problems differently (biology), but I think to a lot of us that actually adds something to the table. It would be a boring life if everyone thought the same way.

They are a great group and get along well with each other and they each accept that as far as the game goes I am GOD! (GODDESS) We never have any arguments over rules or anything. We have potlucks at each game since we meet once a month and tend to game straight through dinner. And they bring M&M's to appease the dragon whom they live in mortal fear of!

Those look like a labour of love. Lots of detail, good colour - they look great! What a genius idea: a dungeon tile set as a present. I'm sure you will be "Best Sister Ever" for a long time to come.

After I was finished it was hard to hand them over.
