Well what can I say? Like most here I saw a few DM's Craft and DMG videos and here I am. Honestly I don't DM....yet. Im the crafter in the gaming group apparently. I've played AD&D 2e on and off during highschool but fell away from it for a while then rediscovered it again (well into my 30's I might add) after I got out off the Navy and moved back to my hometown. We had been playing D&D 3.5 but have recently made the switch to Pathfinder and started using the 2.5 method with our new game. Its elevated our gaming way beyond the little squared maps we used to have to draw out. Now we just reach into the ol' storage box of holding and BAM! Dungeon adventures await. I'll have some pictures up soon. I'm looking forward to being more involved in this community everyone seems very supportive.

Welcome!! This is a great place to not only get ideas, but also to use like a sounding board to toss your own ideas around. Great crafters no matter what your game. Enjoy!

Non-DMs are not welcome here!!!! Jk. We're always happy to get new blood, and frankly, we could probably use some more "players" in the group. Sometimes a different perspective lends to some very good ideas.
In, fact, has being a player amongst the craft, do you have any insight regarding how the craft plays out during games? How do you feel about grids or gridless play? Ugh... so many questions. Please share ALL of the insight!

How do you feel about grids or gridless play? Ugh... so many questions. Please share ALL of the insight! The craft has had a HUGE impact on our game play. As a group we no longer just see a 4x4 room. We have to think on a more tactical level. We cant just pile in a room all willy nilly because there might be crates or tables along with monsters. We have to think "how will it change the dynamics of game play if I tip that bookcase or smash the table". The DM spends less time telling us why we cant do something because we can see exactly how its supposed to be. Last session we used some tiles that had buildings on top of it (like DM Scotty showed in his videos) my rogue was able to do an acrobatic/jump check to get up and across the roof and sneak attack the cleric that was attacking the group. Honestly if we hadn't had the tiles I wouldn't have looked at the situation like that and the group would still be taking fireballs to the face. TO THE FACE!!! As far grid vs gridless play we are kind of in transition. Most of the tiles I make have a quasi type grid because of the way they are painted. Some of the new ones I'm making don't. Basically the Dm wants to try it in little bits with a few tiles here and there and on larger terrain pieces I'm working on. We've all been playing grids for a long time so we're taking the training wheels off slowly but I think we will eventually end up going gridless or a hybrid type system. Hope this answers some questions let me know if you think of any more.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Lets build something! Welcome aboard. Oh yeah, and what I like is seeing how a few people do things, and a few ways of how to dome something and trying to pick out the parts that work best for my clumsy hands Friendly bunch here. Don't be afraid to ask a stupid question, cause I'll bet any number of us have had the same question some time. I'm the king of dumb questions
