The idea was to make these modular and functional. to start I employed a carboard/foamcore hybrid style. The base is a 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" square. I did use double thick cardboard, but maybe singl thick will work too. The foamcore is the cheap $.99 store kind that the paper comes off easily. I cut two strips 2 1/4" wide and 6 1/4 long for walkways. Put one strip on either side and hot glue them down. Then I peeled off the paper. Now for the floor texture. I measured about 1/4" on all edges and ruled out the bricks with a small flat screwdriver to make the impressions. you don't have to be exact, just kinda close. I cut 1/4" wide foamcore for the walls and hot glued them. Now for the water. I painted in the green sewega with and airbrush, making it darker in the middle for depth, and blend it outward to the walkways. Of course you could use a paintbrush instead, I was looking for a good color transition, and I need the practice. now, I needed to mask the water to paint the whole tile in black. You probably guessed, because this is exposed foam, I couldn't use spray paint, so back to the airbrush. Again, a paintbrush works just fine, I need practice in airbrush. So since I have the mask still on, I decided to start the bricks. I took a stiff brush and some flag red and did a very heavy dry brush over the bricks, more color in the middle and more dark near the walls. I since used some of my caulk sludge in the water area and I love how that came out, just didn't get a pic of it, so something to think about I guess.

Was completely unaware of the cheapness of the foamcore sheets and their pre-adhesiveness. Thanks! Also, I like the sewer tiles. I was thinking of making a set of just rooms (I'd just use my dungeon tiles and describe where sewage was for the 'tunnels'). This will make the process much quicker.

Looking good so far. I'm going to use a similar technique for sewer tiles as well.

Well because I used the airbrush, I used airbrush paint. It's Badger minitair swamp ground, but it is a military olive green color. I had mixed something close using forest green and light mocha and some grey, but not exactly the same.
