Howdy, 216 colors for about 1.50 per bottle! That IS a great deal. However, let me be the voice of reason. That is a lot of colors you may never use? Depending on what you are intending to paint, I think a pallet of 16 colors would be a better place to start than 216! $300 can buy a lot of mini's to practice on. Just sayin', Kev!

Howdy,
Together, these items look like they could be stuck next to an excavation in Skyrim! The journal is awesome. Stick 'em on a mine shaft tile. The variation of items alone sells it.

Howdy, Have you ever thought of splashing the tiles with a bit of more or less arbitrary color? I have. I like the look with the increased variation, but did not go the extra mile on these particular tiles...yet. Here is a shot of some test pieces I did of walls and floors with the light and dark brown, green, and yellowish stones/bricks... Click through for a closer look... I agree with you, Kev! P.S. Yes, it they derive from DM Scotty's 2.5d next "Stamp" technique. I just like the stamp as is, instead of stamping with it. So, cut the tiles from the foam. Peel one side(the eventual bottom.) Cut and glue the lower "walls" on. cut and glue a stiffener, I used corrugated plastic political sign material filled with play sand and sealed with hot glue. The stairs have HDF as a stiffener instead. Peel the other side(top). Cut and glue the upper "walls". Carve the stones into the foam. Carve the walls like stacked stones/bricks. Roll a jagged rock all over it pressing firmly to get the texture. Carefully on the walls. Finally I glued the paper I previously peeled from one side back onto the bottom. Paint. K!

Howdy, I was kinda worried about trying my hand at miniatures. I noticed my local gaming store had Mage Knight: Resurrection and Thor: The Dark World singles for $1.00. I decided to scrounge some up and go to the local hobby shop and grab some 1-inch wood circles. Since it was after Christmas, Ace hardware had sales on leftover Christmas stuff. They had textured rolls for mini Christmas displays: stone and brick. I bought all they had. I spray painted the wood circles and traced them on the back of the textured rolls, followed by using wood glue to hold them in place. Then I used thin super glue to hold the mini to the base. Here is a couple from Horrorclix: Here is one of Thorin Oakenshield: I decided yesterday on a whim to try repainting a couple minis. Here is Kurse from the Thor: The Dark World Heroclix set Since I had multiples of him, I decided to make an orc/ Half-orc (whatever you want) barbarian. Here is a mid-paint comparison: And here is my finished Barbarian. I must say, I am very, VERY pleased at this. I was afraid it wasn't going to turn out very well but it looks great in my opinion. Today I started painting an old Mage Knight figure. I should have taken a "before" picture but oh well. He was covered in the same shade of black and silver all over with a pinkish/purple face so I repainted him in a way that seemed much more fitting of him. It seems a shame because this guy had a bunch of detail but was all shadowed by the black. I didn't know there was that much detail in this guy. So tell me guys. What do you think? Any tips? My advice is...Keep up the great work! EXALT BUTTON!!!, Kev!

Howdy, They make nice hedges/walls. cut them up to break that S shape, stack em' like bricks a couple of layers high. Then flock with some green for hedges, or paint up like stone for walls. The wall and hedge are both the green s shape packing peanuts... Kev!
