So, an idea was posted on another thread that peaked my interest for a few reasons. Long story short, I sometimes need a little.....motivation, to start/finish a project. So I liked this idea from tauster,
"Here's another cooperative idea: How about many crafters contributing to one impossibly huge terrain project?
We would have to agree on a terrain and/or monster theme, then each participant would craft something and we would send our stuff to someone who'd then use it in a roleplaying campaign. That game should be recorded and shared on youtube so each participant could se his/her piece in action.
Just thought I'd share that crazy idea... "
I got to thinking, how about a tavern? I bet almost every fantasy theme game will have the players visit a tavern at least once. It's also something I've wanted to do for a long time, but again, lack of motivation....... See, I don't actually run any games. I play lots, but not run them, and we play virtually, on google hangouts, so minis, props, and terrain are not used, but I love to paint minis and such.
anyway, I thought we could do a tavern and help support some of our own forum members. I do have a 3d printer and decided to purchase the True Tiles tavern set. I like the design, and I like supporting Wyloch's vids. I also have all the models curufin published on Thingaverse, we could use them as well. And jennifer has an awesome bookshelf model I found we could also use.
I'm willing to print the tavern set and any accessories we can come up with. What I'm asking is for volunteers to paint them, or craft items, or create 3d models within the theme.
This will involve mailing items to the various volunteers, and of course to whomever "wins" the completed project. I say we keep it within the U.S. because postage can get crazy expensive, but if you're willing to pay international postage, more power to you.
What are you're thoughts?
