I just registered having found TheDMsCraft on youtube recently. I've played D&D since AD&D off and on through 3.5 and more recently Pathfinder. I have 4 kids, three of which are interested in roleplaying. (I caught them inventing their own rules light game using lego minis and thought it was time to teach them pathfinder.) We host a semi-regular game at our house for the friends of my oldest (14) because none of them felt ready to DM.
I'm always looking for ways to make it cooler than a write on mat, but don't have cash for purchased things. On top of that, I love doing projects with the same kids, so we are going to make some of Scotty's style tiles together. Right now we are making a polystyrene ship for the main campaign, but as soon as that is done we are stocking up on the hot glue and cardboard.

Welcome! I DM for my grandkids, as I did once upon a time for my kids. The grandkids don't live near enough to get into scenery projects with me in the limited time we have together, so I think it's great that yours are getting the chance to make props for the game with you.

Well I'm late to this party. Welcome aboard none the less! Great you're enjoying the time RPing with your kids. I was playing during the 'satanic panic' era and my folks were against me playing....well done to you good sir for encouraging and coaching.
