factoriatabletop Inspired me to try making a cauldron - I think that might be a neat piece of dungeon furniture. Enter half a plastic egg from some Kinder chocolate, a few pins, beads and some hot glue: And today I got started on painting it. Still a bit of work ahead. And the Hero Quest desk got finished. I also finished a pair of braziers - also not actually Hero Quest, but I'll put them down as furniture :-)

That sounds great! hope you put some pics of your work, in that way we can get inspired too. My best regards lordmorbius Well, you asked for it... My first amateur attempt at painting up my Heroquest miniatures are the Chaos Warriors. I dislike the practice of numbering miniature bases in order to keep track of which one has how many hit points, etc. My solution was to paint each Chaos Warrior with a different color scheme, in order to tell them apart. I also modified the horns on 2 of them to have a more traditional fantasy "Viking" look to them. I've seen others modify various miniatures further, by changing their weapons and adding shields with different heraldry markings on them, but unfortunately, I don't have any shields or extra weapons at the moment. I'll be getting some in the future though. (Top unpainted, Left to right working down the image is #1 Gun Blue with gold axe, high lighted with dry brush silver, #2 Silver with modified horns, #3 Blood Red with modified horns, high lighted with dry brush gold, #4 Jade Green with gold horns, black boots & gloves, high lighted with dry brush gold, #5 Cyan Blue highlighted with dry brushed silver, #6 Half Blood Red, Half pure white, with brown gloves and boots, high lighted with dry brush gold)

(Top left and bottom second from right) The curved sword I pinched from some old Chaos Warriors. I'm pretty sure the short sword is from the "new" Empire Soldiers kit. The axe is dwarven - I don't know the kit - got is as a spare from a friend. The halberd is from Empire militia. (Left half, bottom right) The greatsword (Bottom left-most/right-most) The mace I think is from Chaos Marauders - slightly modified. The knife I don't quite remember where I got it from. I think the spear was from some very old plastic - but it's exact origin is also a mystery. The last sword is from the greatswords sprue above (top left/right).

I think the spear was from some very old plastic - but it's exact origin is also a mystery. No longer :-) I remembered where it's from - old mono-pose goblins: I modified a bunch of those goblins to have swords and axes and stuff instead of spears - that's where I got it.

Awesome, that looks great, i've got a hero quest game I might end up looking through. A friend gave it to me and some of the pieces have quite thick paint on them!

This thread has gone a while without updates, but I still have the pieces on my table :-) I did get a little further with the cupboard - I decided to make the rats into separate pieces/creatures, instead of keeping them glued to the furniture, so the slight blemish is from where I carved it of and repainted. Besides messing stuff up that I've already done, I also added hinges from grey stuff.
