Threw together another black pudding / slime / ooze in Blender. Made it available for download on Thingiverse.com. It's 74mb since I upped the sphere subdivisions pretty high. I don't know how to decimate it. If someone knows how I can reduce the file size and yet keep the sphere smoothness, I'll fix it. But otherwise, it's downloadable and printable now at least. www.thingiverse.com/thing:2003832I mixed in red and brown to the black paint, to give the "black" pudding a bit of red (blood) look. Since that's what black pudding sausage is made of: blood. I presume this thing devourers all creatures and adds to the gooey black / dark blood mess.

I'm pretty sure Meshmixer can do that, but I haven't tried it myself.

Designed and printed an oblong base for my boar which I got for $1 from ebay-- came in set of ten medium to large size miniatures for $10 (including shipping), from China. For some reason all ten of these Pathfinder minis I got did not come with the bases. The oblong base is customizable OpenSCAD program and I am sharing it along with a 25x50x2 mm base STL file, on thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:2004540

Were they really cheap also, maybe $1 each or less? If they were all complete, just missing bases, then you made out.

I guess the dire boar is "large" size and should be on a 50mm round base? Looking at some photos, I see this pathfinder dire boar on a large round base.
I did sit the boar on a 50mm disc and it looked weird with so much space on the sides.
This oblong fits in 2 squares instead of 4.
Hope this is okay? Or should I put it on a large 50mm round base? It's on a 25mm x 50mm base now.

I think it is fine. I much prefer 1x2 bases for large/long creatures like horses and such.

I agree 1x2 for long creatures is the way to go even if it limits there reach on the sides, unless you turn your minatures to face who there attacking

Printed a custom 35x70 base (with the OpenSCAD program I mentioned above), for my Bulette (shapeways.com).

Giant Sized Mimic (50mm base) I saw this cool looking giant sized Mimic on thingiverse.com yesterday and decided to print it out: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1559671So I printed it out at .1 layer height (100% infill) and it of course had lots of problems. First the tongue didn't even finish printing for some reason, and all the teeth were majorly jacked up or mostly non-existant .. brittle etc.. But I didn't give up, because this miniature is too cool to abort! So I took some diagonal cutters to the teeth and cut to the gum. Then I fashioned a tongue tip with epoxy putting (Apoxie brand). Then I do like DM Scotty and made some teeth with toothpicks and a hot glue gun. I'll prime, paint and base it tomorrow, after the epoxy has had full time to cure. This thing is gonna look awesome!

"Feed me, Seymour!" That looks fantastic; the gloss inside the mouth makes it look all the more realistic... if you can say that about a trunk with teeth.

Wow, looks great, how long ago was it that you were asking about people to paint miniatures for you? People will be asking you to paint theirs

I agree with the others for the oblong bases. I really never liked the horses on a circular base and when I started basing my own horses, I used 1x2 bases myself.
Your other print outs look really good Jennifer!

Dutchmogul just added a treasure pile STL to thingiverse yesterday. Downloaded it last night, printed it at .1 layer height (100% infill). www.thingiverse.com/thing:2010492Then painted it and gave it a wash with Army Painter soft tone. Dry brushed on gold highlights after the wash dried. After that all dried I applied some 50/50 white glue (pva) & water. Sprinkled on the coarse glitter here and there. Bag colors (before washing with above) were: Americana Cocoa, Americana Burnt Sienna & Folk Art Linen. Chest: black, then dry brushed on espresso brown then a light dry brush of burnt umber. Close up (turns out the coins aren't perfectly circle now are they lol.. but you can't see that from a few inches away at all.. at least I can't lol) : Also printed out a crates/barrels loot pile (all one piece for easy setup). Its from the same link as the above treasure pile.

I saw those too. They look pretty good. It was Dutchmogul, not DevonJones, who released it.

What ARE you selling the finished pieces for? I have PayPal, and I am not afraid to use it...
Gorgeous! Pretty much 'perfect'. Thank you for inspiring the rest of us crafters! Cheers!
