While working on The Keep (Frostgrave scenario), I noticed on page 106 of the first book, the following: "Maybe it's the greatest library in the city, but every spell is written on a ten foot slab of rock, crawling with blood rats.." What a breath of relief this passage of text gives me. I can now form many of the modular library "blocks" with these 10 foot by 10 foot slabs, which are very easy and quick to make--compared to crafting shelving, scrolls, books & clay tablets. I just need to make some lil' rats with sculpey to sit on top of a couple of them. Going to be inserting pennies (or other cheap coins) into the base to weight it down nicely. I'll hot glue them in place. Material used: 1" rigid insulation (pink foam). Etched with dull pencil.

I have some ancient libraries where this might actually be of sensible use. I will have to ponder this for a while. But I love how you modeled them. Brilliant! Cheers!

That stone slab is the bomb!!! I just love seeing what you come up with next. This library is fast becoming one of my favourite builds on this forum.

Row of Inscribed Stone SlabsJust finished a row of inscribed stone slabs for my library. Painted it up different stone colors. This row is a single "triple-wide" piece. There is a "single-wide" inscribed stone slab standing alone to the side. I'll be making two of these triple-wide pieces, about three single-wide, and about three double-wide pieces. The single-wide is the width of my bookshelves. There will be a section in the library that's all stone slabs and another section with shelves of books, scrolls and clay tablets--each of the three all mixed together.

I need to make a bunch more of these stone tablets. Started working on a model for one. What do you think?

Those are really cool! Certainly adds a lot of interest. Especially like what you said about shelves scattered with scrolls and books. Describes a lot of what I see on here, including mine. Very excellent indeed!

I like the idea of the stone tablets but speaking from experience the text on the stone might be a issue, or it might come out looking weathered and look really cool.

I still want some of the scroll shelves. haha too lazy to craft out of craft sticks (actually not lazy, they would just look lopsided and crooked. I don't have a 3d printer yet either I love the inscribed stone too. Simple idea wish I had thought of that. Cheers and keep posting.

It's not deep enough is it I dont think so but i would do a small test print before you change a thing because every printer is a little different and mine hasn't been very reliable lately
