It was even easier than that. The archway is just just two layers of cheap foamcore sandwiched together.
I schetched the archway on a piece of paper. Then I placed the drawing on the foam core and traced over it with a ball point pen, to emboss the image into the foam. Removed the paper and went over the lines with a pen to make them more visable. Then went over the line lines again with the tip of a #11 blade. Then used the ball point pens again to widen the lines. Cut it out, traced it's outline onto another piece of foam core, and repeated the process to make the other side of the archway. A little bit of white glue to stick them together, and some scrap to make the base. and have yourself an archway.

Wow, from the photo angle I would have guessed it was pink Styrofoam.

Here's a quick Work In Progress shot of the tower. Assembled for a test fit, with a base coat of PVA and paint mix. Also, just for fun, I had an idea while watching Jessica Jones and ran with it. My Wizard in Frostgrave has a spell that allows him to summon walla. The summoned wall is 6"x3" on the tabletop. I wanted a few on hand for when he cast the spell. I've seen other people make plain walls, but I thought that boring, so I decided to have a littel fun with it.

Just curious if you got around to trying the technique out ? I'd be interested in seeing what you came up with.

The lighted portion of the tower, with the lights out Top view, so you can see the bit that inspired me to light the thing up in the first place

It's a bit crude but it was a simple process. The archway is about the size of a door and I need to put a base on it. I can do all that tonight while I watch the Warriors basketball game.

Well, this is my first foray into this. But here ya go, in all its unpainted glory. And I've added Sir Looksaround to create scale. Also, I used some of the "scraps" of this piece to create this. It occurred to me that I could use this piece as part of a blocked up passageway. I am going to mount both pieces on some sturdy card stock and add the detail. But for this odd thing, I could also add some blocks and gravel to simulate a partial cave-in.

That would be good Scatter Terrain... put it on a base, texture it up, paint it, then add plants, vines and grass flocking. Or Spider Webs. *shrug*

This is the Silent, but lit, tower fully assembled. An Archway, because they are cooler looking and more funtional than walls, on the tabeltop. A Treasure Token marker of a Magical Ring. Instead of painting dungeon tiles, I tried my hand at illustrating them. I'm pretty happy with the result.

I like that idea of the treasure token. Cool ring, too.
Also, I like those tiles. Hand drawn has a certain quality to it that looks rather nifty. Let me guess, that top piece was your first tile drawn?
Also, that archway is cool. I like the stone work and that smoothness to the archway itself reminds me of a single stone piece. I now want to make monoliths.

Very, very cool. I am done for the night, quit my project a few minutes ago. I am tired and feeling a little under the weather, but man, looking at these, I want to go back and do some more work.

the fun thing about hero quest was how simple it was. now thats what a true board game about adventures was supposed to be.

Some more stuff I whipped up for Frostgrave The Keep Scenario, for Frostgrave, requires 4 2" circles to represent arcane teleportation circies. and an Archway I built, just because I made these marker stones for a custom Frostgrave scenario, I haven't gotten to play test yet. As a Frostgrave player I am totally digging this stuff!
