I use a wooden dowel for flying models, painting the dowel black helps it 'disappear'. Just an idea to consider. Cheers!

I like the circular balls with nubs. I can think of a nasty trap. I'm planning on getting some thin rope like string and making a ceiling tripwire trap for goblin/kobold type encounters in caves. Reminds me of the good ol' days when my life was only about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I've been using small clear marbles as will'o'the'wisps. Looking at this I think I might try a small clear marble with some hot glue creating the shape you have here and see how it ends up. I really should get some of those tea lights and see if I can use them to make them glow.
