I Prepare (as now only the first level) the dungeon of the crown of the kobold king adventure in 2.5D. I changed some rooms and monsters and like to play it with Savage Worlds rules. For all people that know this map, I change room 8 and 9. There was a trap room and behind it a war memorial {--SPOILER--}
with a secret door. Room 8 lies in my dungeon behind the secret room, as additional protection for room 11, not longer as protection of the war memorial!. The trap where two rows of armed statues/sculptures and I am to lazy to create a dozen dwarf statues. So I'd like to create some other trap in this room. Maybe some wirhling blades or something similar, so it could be possible to cross the room with some dexterity rolls. And I'd like a way to disarm the trap, but it shouldnt be to obviously. I really hate traps that force the owner/maker of the trap to risk his life every time he get there. :-) Any Ideas Or should I simply make some circular saw that jump out of the floor.

Cool. Yeah, something like this I imagine. Like the cog wheels at this buzzsaws. I remember seeing a swinging blade of doom hanging down from the (invisible) ceiling on a chain but I cant find it.

I would have the saw blades start whirling across the floor in a mad, deadly criss crossing pattern that alternates with clock work gearing, no obvious signs of how to disarm it, aside from a lever down the far end of the room (activating the lever at this stage will do nothing at all). The safety mechanism is the door knob on the other side of the entry door, which, on inspection, has a wire spooled around it, that is pulled when the knob is turned clockwise. When turned, a long, narrow section of the ceiling lowers down to form a safe gangway across the room, the lever on the other side can then be pulled to raise the gangway up again (though, how you get it down again without crossing the deadly saw blades is going to be a tricky problem to figure out!).
