Germy has a tutorial on making his pulpy robot on the cheap. GermyYou may want to look at Germy's papercraft buildings... even if you don't use the whole buildings, there are some great signs, posters, warnings, vents and floor textures in there.

Going to get 3 of these mono - bots that look straight out of fallout. If anyone has a molding kit if they want to mold one of these for me I'd appreciate it because of the terrible currency exchange rate and huge shipping costs they are pricey but I gotta have them!

So here are a couple of sites I found. The hydra minis aren't exactly cheap but they seemed retro enough. Germy has a tutorial on making his pulpy robot on the cheap. Germy Hydra miniatures
Thanks for the Germy link! I was checking out the hydra ones earlier. Cool stuff. And I found your mini.

Those don't look like they'd be terribly hard to build from scratch. For the arms use heavy wire, then wrap with thinner wire to get the hose look. You could use tires from cheap toy cars. The main body could be built from layers of cardboard glued together, then just add the detail bits. You could probably make 10 robots for less than $5.

I feel rushed on this project of mine, I have a full playtest with all my players this saturday however im for sure going to try that when I buy some bulk toy cars for scrap tire piles.

We just finished the play test and the players really liked the pace of the game, and how their characters played. Both encounters went smooth and fast. We had a hacker, commando, and a ranger. I started the scene with the players just exiting the vault on a mission from the headmaster to obtain a new source of supplies in the nearby buildings. The Ranger was leading the group and activated his camo at the start and got the jump on three scorpions and two ants. The players got into position and attacked, the commando crit on one of the ants killing it in one hit, the hacker and rangers combined attacks dropped the other ant. The three scorpions were alerted and rolled for initiative. The enemies won the roll all advancing to the players, two attacks hit the ranger and the other scorpion missed the hacker. The ranger and hacker attack again dropping one of the scorpions and the commando covers the hole where the ants were coming from, then he headed towards the group. After defeating the other two scorpions, the players search the area and see a generator still in working order, they are going to try and sell it later inside the vault. They also see an old factory off in the distance and head off in that direction. They entered the factory and the lighting is low from lack of windows. The first room is filled with crates and the players had to move them to get about the factory. When reaching the first corner the players here strange sounds echoing off the concrete. The ranger, taking caution, activated his active camo and lurks around the corner seeing the fleshy mass, he the quickly shoves a bigger crate blocking the mass behind a wall of crates. The players then all take shots thinking they were safe from the mutant. On the mutants turn he shot a massive glob of toxic ooze at the player making them all take damage and radiation points. They then take turns attacking until the commando got a running start and then jumped off the crate, rolled a crit and plunged his combat knife into the mutant killing it. We called it here because the ranger had to leave. They are eager for the next session.

Sounds like it was a fun game. I forgot about a bookmarked link I have that may interest you. Wizardawn
There's a ton of info that could be mined from the random generators. Enjoy it.

Brainbot That link is great and the fact you can save the images is awesome too! Thanks man. @rouseau Thanks for the link on those walls! I'm excited for the video, and I'll be sure to keep checking for it The part that made me most happy about this run of the game was that everyone was surprised with how the scenes looked. Considering that they were unfinished everything came together great! I have a lot of projects on my table for the next two weeks. Working on Ratchet City, the first "civilization" outside their vault doors. Going to try and get all of the shantys put together and the fences are about complete. I'll have pictures when I'm finished. I also should be getting all my bots in the mail this week Things I noticed about the game. The commando is overpowered in the first few levels considering his +2 melee proficiency and he had a +3 expertise mod. Giving him a +5 to accuracy and damage rolls off the get go. I have a feeling this will even out about level 5 when they are facing more "intelligent" opponents, and the damage scale of melee weapons is lower compared to other guns. Combat was quick, and the players were both new to table top games completely. They came up with all the strategies on their own and picked up then rules quickly. Can't wait for the next play test

Glad to hear it went so well!
I really like how those thick cardboard walls came out. It almost looks like if you sprayed them with rust colors, they'd look great as walls made of rusty, bent sheet metal. Could give you another option for walls that aren't concrete.

An idea for great reusable locations: metro tunnels. They could be shallow (blocked by a separate rubble piece), or expansive, like a dungeon crawl. Since metros are modern (i.e. not old-timey looking railroad tracks), you could simply dig out a section of corrugated cardboard or foam core and use long, thin zip ties standing on their edge for the tracks. Glue one down flat in the middle for the power track.
Digging out the corrugation/foamcore would make them stackable for storage, as well as adding the effect of a raised walkway, though you'd probably have to make it double thick for rigidity. Walls could be 2.5N concrete, which you're already making.
You'd probably only need 2-3 straight passages, a Y intersection, a metro stop/station and a tunnel entrance (optional). The tiles wouldn't have to be huge... maybe 5-6 inches wide and a foot long. The metro stop could simply butt up against any straight tile.

Sorry for the double-post here, but I just thought of something else that might be a stunning set piece. I was playing Destiny and was in the Moth Yards, then it hit me... a rusted out old plane fuselage! If you found an old toy, you could use the wings and engines and what not as line-of-sight breakers and elevation-styled terrain pieces. Getting to fight through the interior would be really awesome as a player, but in order to make that work, you would have to probably figure out some kind of 2.5D terrain solution, as maneuvering minis through the body of the fuselage would be next to impossible. Anyways... just an idea! So I was searching the net for pulp sci fi stuff and found this big gulp drinking cup with fins on the side spray painted airstream silver. If i can find it again ill link it

Thanks man I think i might make Ratchet City an underground subway station. This will be good modular stuff for random underground subway locations. I felt my concrete walls might block too much of the view on the table so I might cut the size back but i like the shapes i got for the broken pieces.
