Well I just finished the second video and I have to say, I really like the idea of stamping the sections of the floor. It occurs to me that you could do similar stamps for cavern type floors by making the pattern irregular and use more rounded shapes for a similar effect. You could also use the stamp method to create concrete type floors by using a 2"x 2" guide and overlapping the stone pattern so you get a much larger effect. Steel plate floors could be done in a similar manner by making an offset grid, and poking small holes along the seems with a small tube to create rivets. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

When I watched Scotty make this stamp, my jaw instantly dropped. So easy, with to great unregular results!
I really want to see a 'natural caverns' stamp, because that's what I need in my campaign.

I really want to see a 'natural caverns' stamp, because that's what I need in my campaign. DMG has some great videos on making modular caverns, the texture technique uses tinfoil and is (comparatively) quick and easy, painting is super easy and it looks great. You could extend that to a large flat playing mat, although I would recommend using mdf or something as your base, as I did a 500x500mm board with double card and it constantly arches up. If you wanted to use the stamp to get a grid, you would be able to get a pretty good cavern effect just by changing the colours to browns and yellows?

You can actually get a pretty good result with little work if you can get your hands on some of the larger pieces of lava rock. If you add a bit more pressure when applying paint, you also get a pretty interesting surface texture if you're using the mats... My big thought between the two options for base tiles shown is that combining the two could actually work rather well...though I already have a couple of the cork sheets because I like chopping them up for basing, and I believe it's matakishi's tea house where they use the cork sheets for all sorts of construction

I need to remake my brick stamp. I tried to make a double sided road, but my stamp didn't seem to work out too well. I think the cardboard I used to make the bricks was too small and when I would press down it was just a jittery mess with no real texture to it - so just be weary and try not to make my mistake!

It may have been stated in the video and I missed it...What thickness of cork sheet is DMScotty and other people using? I found some at AC Moore but they don't look nearly as thick as the ones in the video.

Absolutely great stuff, dmzane - especially the round one on the right side! Can you give us a close-up look on this one? Maybe shot from the side, so that we can see it a bit more three-dimensionally? That would be awesome. It looks like irregular round rocks, but with a bit more colors and some shading, it might look like mushroom caps from above, a bit like paizo's maps: Just my two fungus-cent...

For a more scifi style one, you might be able to make a stamp with a layer of plastic canvass/granny grating glued to a layer of cardboard and building a handle from there.

I like that cobblestone effect as well. Nicely done.
