Some time ago, one of my first crafting porjects was a armored worm. I made another one of this cutie's and made a little video project. I had some help from my assistent, my daughter. Armored worm crafting videoWhile crafting talking is easier, but I should somehow change the position of the camera. While painting most of the time it was only the back of my hand visible. So I posted only the pictures I took. As reward for the people that look until the end wait's a picture of a little beast my daughter made alone while I paint the worm. Yes, this are gold color on the legs. And you know-Like Button!

In one word: Awesome!
- Use of cheap materials? check. - Quick and easy crafting without any complicated techniques? check. - Frankensteining several creatures together? check. - Great monstrous result? Check.
But you know what I loved most? That you include your kids in your hobby! When I'm at my crafting table, my son (2.5 yrs) is often looking up and wants to know what I'm making. While he's not old enough to understand what roleplaying is (even though he does it all the time himself) and why you would need monsters for that (heck, he doesn't even really know what a monster is), he's clearly interested. I hope in a few years I can infect him with the crafting and roleplaying bug.

Yes, im really happy that she shows so much interest in this hobby. The videomaking was a little bit more "exciting" with her help. I guess without I would made more comments for the viewer and would think more about positioning my hand so the miniatur is visible, and not the back of my hand. But while I painted the worm she made some creature out of a roach, with a fin out of textur paint. She made it on her own and this made me proud.
We had roleplayed a little bit since she is five. The first games were some skeletonkey cave tiles, some monsters and she played a dog (I have a cute dog miniature) that have to rescue the dogs masters out of the hands of the monsters. Mostly she rolled dice for stealth, talked with the dire wolves and jumped over trapdors. Dice rolling was involved, a rolled 1 was something like "oh, no that looks bad. You nearly *something bad*. Roll again and hope its better." Today we play sometimes short fantasy adventure. In a few weeks the school start for her. She likes to learn writing so she could fill out the charaktersheet herself! She only have to learn that its better to play the same charakter each adventure and not made a new each game. ;-)
Sometimes I fear that I breed a nerdy girl, but since she is good at sports, climbing, swimming and find new friends quick I think I only show her a interesting hobbie. And have some quality time with ne. :-)
