This is amazing, but what have you done? You have raised the bar so high that I don't even want to touch my unfinished purple worm dice tower project anymore! Seriously dude, without diminishing what all the other worm creators have done so far: This is probably the best one I've seen so far!

hmmm... You know, that is one pretty damn good Purple Worm you have there.. I already have the old Reaper version, and the Wizards Huge Purple Worm. But I don't have a really.. really big one yet.

Seriously dude, without diminishing what all the other worm creators have done so far: This is probably the best one I've seen so far! Thank you for the complement... But this makes me feel more bad than good... We are artisans by trade, we forge our crafts to perfection. From what I have seen of your work I really enjoy! Especially your Purple Worm/Dice Tower, I really want to see this done! And if you really feel like you can't go forward with it, then I have failed to do what all artist are truly meant to do... INSPIRE! Your gold piles, and tentacles, and gelatinous cubes have done just that for me inspiration my friend! I used the same methods DM Scotty's used in his video to show us how to make his Purple Worm, after that I applied them in my own way. The only things I did different was the armature and warping it in home made air dry clay. No bar can ever be raised to high. But thank you everyone! I hope you enjoyed viewing as much as I did creating this beast! And I hope it gets them wheels turning!! HAVE A MAGICAL CRAFTASTIC DAY!

This is really good work. I especially like the way you sculpted the head, making it look snake-like.

No problem, you haven't failed in any way (I don't take myself too serious, so don't make that mistake yourself... ). On the contrary, you have used some new ways of making a worm that I'll probably use some time or another. Especially that snakelike head...can't wait do try that myself! p.s.: I just realised that we need a purple worm smiley in the posting editor...

But....sigh now I need to make another one. To be honest i think I like it better as the chromish version. Then Again I made mine to be a Blood Worm as opposed to old purple. I also find myself worried about the clay, I have never done any real sculpting.

I also find myself worried about the clay, I have never done any real sculpting.I felt the same when I started working with clay again (I did some minor sculpting 1 yrs back). My advice: Simply don't worry and start playing around with this new material. After all, what can go wrong? This isn't dangerous stuff - you're not tinkering with electricity or gunpowder. Seriously, the worst that could happen is that you get your clothes dirty, and clay is easy to wash out. Second worst case: You don't like your end result. So what? Simply clump it all together and start again!

Simply clump it all together and start again! I cannot agree more. GO FOR IT! I was nervous when I started the Green Devil Face, but it turned out well. If you use real clay, I might suggest keeping a little bowl of water nearby. Dabbing your fingers in the water helps smooth out the clay and sometimes it gets a little sticky. YMMV.

I agree we do need a purple worm smiley!
After completing this project I want to work with Super Sculpy, the home made clay is neat but its nothing like the real deal. You can get so much detail out of super sculpy, and green stuff. I ordered a few pounds of Super Sculpy last night, so I'm excited to get my hands on it! I'll be using Super Sculpy to do the Tarrasque..... I tried with the air dry clay last night but I dunno I just wasn't happy with how it was turning out. I know the point is to keep these projects at a low budget, but the way I see it 20 bucks worth of clay to make something as massive as a Tarrasque it will be well worth it.
Thank you sir!

I love how this forum seems to create trending monsters.. first it was Beholders, now it is Purple (or blood) Worms.
Excellent work Brutis140, can't wait to see the paint job, also, those teeth look seriously dangerous!
