...because of orcs, and it blocks a caravan, and the orcs kill everyone in the caravan, and the heroes aren't there to stop it, did it happen? Ambush! The Walkthrough: Taking pages from other crafters here, I'm starting with pipe cleaners. Form them into a fallen tree. (Mini for scale) Put a little hot glue over the joints to hold everything in place. Wrap the whole armature with the classic paper towel/water/pva glue mixture that we all know and love. Place it in your homemade easy-bake-oven. Set it to "on" for about 30-45min. (60 watt bulb- wattage and amount of water used will result in different dry times. DO NOT use more that 75 watt bulb!) I gave the tree some bark texturing with hot glue and added a few pieces of broke wooden coffee sturrers to simulate the broken bark. Base coat black. Brush on your favorite tree trunk colors. Glue on your choice of foliage. Ambush away!

Good looking tree and outdoor terrain. Thanks for showing the progress to make it also!

Very well done. I like using the stirrers as the broken wood. Thanks!

Yes, all of the above! Plus that's a handsome cat you have there. I take that's your supervisor?

Probably not as much as I should be.
Either way great tree and love the idea of using a fallen one to cause an ambush scenario.

Super nice touch with the coffee stirs. A little detail like that adds a whole lot. And of course the kitty had to try and help as well

This is great. Did you use cotton for the tree foliage?

The fallen tree model is really great. Even the way the foliage is lying is exactly like that of a fallen tree.

I love the easy bake oven. Cool idea. It also works great for quickly drying glued up piles of construction sand and drying base coats in the middle of winter! Last winter my garage go down to 10 degrees F and I was still drying painted tiles in 10min.

This is great. Did you use cotton for the tree foliage? Yes I did! Thanks for the info. I have about half a bag left after a stuffed animal repair job, and may use it for hair/foliage for ents. Thinking of clothespins as a base.

The tree is a great idea and looks so good. I might just have to construct one of those ovens, too.

I have some moss coming from Walmart and I found some old moss that I collected on a woodland walk about 10 years ago. I'll have to see what can be done with these...
