Hey guys! After being inspired to get crafty by DMG and DM Scotty, I brought my tiles to today's session of our Pathfinder campaign and we gave it a shot.
The DM kept his grid paper laid down underneath as we made our transition to try gridless (This is everyone except the DM's first P&P RPG)
I have limited tiles and only one door so far, but we made due to see what everyone thought. Needless to say we all enjoyed the gridless system quite alot, as none of us are min/maxers and too too worried about exact grid placement. The grid paper underneath did come in handy a few times when we had to calculate some ranged attacked distances - so we'll probably continue to use it as we become more experienced.
Here are some shots of our traversal through an inner-mountain Dwarven ruin trying to find our way through.
After we scaled a small wall we got ambushed by some baddies!
"Gelatinous cube eats village; I love it!" After warning our half orc Barbarian not to touch the ancient dwarven mechanism that said "Emergency" I was shortly after gobbled up by a cube. No-one ever listens to the Bard.
After our party almost being completely engulfed by cubes, we were able to venture further into what was now looking to be an abandoned crystal mine. Our Frog Knight and Cat thief were very interested in the crystals jutting out of the wall.
Into what looked like the residence area of the mines we found a delirious Dwarf and Elf, and a dwarven corpse in another room. After speaking with them me and the cleric decided to escort them with us. We should have expected them to be trouble when they didn't eat my cheddar baked biscuits and water when they claimed to be hungry! (Shapeshifters!!!)
Bit plain at the moment, gonna be working on furniture pieces for the next few days to have a bit more eye candy!
